As a printed media the door drops industry have to be as environmentally responsible as possible with the use of recycled paper, FSC paper, vegetable inks and other ecologically viable products. More than that there is no excuse not to use the Recycle Now Logo on all material. Many advertisers still do not put the logo on their items which is deplorable from all sides of the industry let alone the consumer.

The collaborative publication asrecommended has put the recycle logo on all of its publications since Q1 2007 and other similar publications have followed suit. However, most of the Top 100 doordrop brands still do not use the logo on their material distributed via door drops. Research has shown that the use of the logo does not damage response so it really is in their interest to encourage recycling.

Recycled paper has improved in quality over the years and the cost has finally started to come down so the options to use this form of paper for door drops are better than ever. Innovations in vegetable inks also offer the opportunity to reduce toxic input into the print process.

We at doordrops.co.uk encourage all users of the door drops medium to run environmentally friendly campaigns but do so using proper analysis of what actually makes a difference to the environment in your well intended approach. Don't succumb to greenwash twaddle that some suppliers will hoodwink you into believing about their product. Research your door drop materials diligently to ensure you achieve your aims.
